Annual Floating Art Show In Sausalito

Yes, art floats at this fun Sausalito event on the water. The next show will be on Saturday, April 24, 2010, Sausalito’s colorful floating homes community will present the eighth annual Artists of Issaquah free exhibition. Guests will view and purchase a wide variety of outstanding art while aboard some of these unique, world-famous water homes.

Resident artists from Issaquah Dock will again be joined by those from Liberty, South Forty, Gate 61/2, West Kappas and A Docks. They will offer at attractive prices: paintings, photographs, sculpture, jewelry, mixed media art and turned exotic wood bowls.

The large Sausalito floating homes community boasts a rich heritage of creative expression and this exciting event maintains this valuable tradition.

How to get there: From north or south, take the Sausalito/Marin City exit from Highway 101, go east at Bridgeway, into the Waldo Point Harbor parking lot; park anywhere; take the Issaquah Dock entry bridge; look for the marked “gallery houseboats”.

Marin Arts Open 2010 - Open Studios & Festival

Most of what we want to tell you about Marin Open Studios can be found below and in the pages of the Arts of Marin Tour guide (distributed April).

Our joy is the Arts; our fascination with creativity and our delight in engaging you. Marin Arts Open is a FREE self-guided tour. However, here are a few tips before you begin delving into the county-spanning adventures we have in store. TIP: Visitors to the Marin Arts Council (906 4th Street, San Rafael, CA, 94901) will enjoy an exhibit with artwork from each Open Studios Artist.

TIP: Grab your copy of The Arts of Marin Tour Guide, a sparkling new catalog to assist you in your travels. The Tour Guide is filled with Open Studios locations and points of interest throughout the county. Handy maps and insider information allow you to create your own itinerary and sample more of what Marin has to offer.

TIP: Celebrate the Arts at its source – with the Art Makers. Held the first two weekends each May. Over 250 Participating artists Open their studios and showcase their work.

Sausalito Spring Fair - Sponsored by - Sausalito Nursery School

The Sausalito Spring Faire is held the first weekend in May in beautiful downtown Sausalito. Our 40 th Annual Faire will be held <dates to be announced 2010>.

Enjoy 100+ artists, fine food, wine, live music and a children's entertainment area featuring music, theater and activities just for kids! Admission to the Spring Faire is free.

Carmel Art Festival May 13 - 16, 2010:

Now celebrating its 17th year, the Carmel Art Festival is a public benefit event held to educate and inspire people of all ages about the visual arts. In 2010, the Festival includes the Plein Air and Sculpture-in-the-Park events, as well as a Quick Draw by the winning artists, and Kids Art Day. The Carmel Art Festival is a non-profit organization with donations from these events supporting local youth art programs. The Carmel Art Festival is always the weekend after Mother's Day weekend.
